The Zanies were essentially nothing more than a studio group created by Lew Bedell for Doré Records. In 1962 the "group" released a 45 titled Frustration, which included early use of a telephone dial tone in a recording. In 1975, the label issued a new recording of the song, still credited to the Zanies, but updated to be a little more modern. This is that version. Enjoy!

This A-side on the B.T. Puppy record label was a request from Jeff Mazdra in the Facebook group, Besides It's A B-Side. I don't know who "The Friend" is on this recording, but Beverly Warren is perhaps best known for filling in for Ellie Greenwich when the Raindrops were on tour.

I heard that song in 77. when I was stationed in Okinawa Japan. The 3 degrees had just released the Japanese version when they toured in Tokyo.Man it beautiful. Diana Ross headlined the show, I don’t remember everybody that was in the show!

This song was actually played in 1966 on WABC but really belongs in the "cone of silence'😅
This song had stellar production. When it'd be spun on my local oldies station in the early to mid-1990s where I was introduced to the record, I remember always marveling how much more depth it had over other songs of the same year or so of its 1966 release. So robust and clean the sound. The organ is magnificent.

My older sister had this record when I was just a toddler many years ago... I had long since totally forgotten about this until I stumbled onto it just now... it took a couple seconds to register when I read the title, but weirdly somehow I could remember the tune of it before hearing it
